BASIC SEWER HOSE CARE
Always use a guide shoe.
Do not allow the hose to rub on the edge of the manhole.
Do not pull the hose with the truck.
Do not exceed the recommended operating pressure of the hose.
Do not exceed the recommended bend radius of the hose.
Only use fittings approved by The Hose Manufacturer.
If a fitting is applied in the field, check the finished swaging dimensions prior to
use. If the dimensions are outside the used tolerance, do not use the hose.
Replace worn swaging dies immediately.
Inspect hose frequently, and replace or mend if the hose is kinked, or the cover
is torn or abraded.
In addition, to ensure the safety of the field operator, we recommend that all
end users include some form of guarding around the hose reel when stored on
the truck and fed into the sewer. Case studies have shown that operator safety
can be maintained in the event of a hose failure when the hose is contained
within a guard housing, generally supplied by the truck manufacturer.
This may not be the only safeguards.
